The 2007 Hasselblad Award Winner video

The awarding of the prize to Nan Goldin took place at Göteborg City Theatre, Göteborg on November 10, 2007. The Award Winner’s exhibition opened at Hasselblad Center in conjunction with the ceremony and will continue until January 13, 2008.

BMW-Paris Photo Prize winner 2007

Winner 2007 : Jitka Hanzlová- Untitled (Hungry Fishes) from the series « The Cotton Rose »- 2004, Kicken, Berlin

The theme is “Water, Origin of Life”. All the short-listed works will be on view during Paris Photo.

A panel of prestigious international experts picked the winner of this 12,000-euro prize from among living artists represented by Paris Photo 2007 participating galleries.

Winner of the Photographic Portrait Prize 2007 = Jonathan Torgovnik

“The fifth annual Photographic Portrait Prize has been won by Jonathan Torgovnik, 38, for his powerful portrait of Joseline Ingabire, a victim of rape during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Photographed with her two children, born at the height of the conflict, the portrait explores the terrible impact of the atrocities of war and aims to raise awareness of the plight of thousands of women abused in Rwanda”.

Backlight 2008 Award

“The central presentations of Backlight 2008 will be based on an International Call for Artists. The Call is focused on photography, but it also accepts photography-based projects that are combined with other media. Deadline for submissions will be 31st of January 2008. Award : Euro 5.000.The Title of Backlight 2008 is : Tickle Attack”.
